The Accommodations

Cats:

Shelby's Eden is situated on private property.  The cat facility is located behind the owner's home in a newly constructed building complete with an attached and wire enclosed patio for your cat's completely safe "outdoor" experience.  The patio is accessed by a cat door which can be locked when cat owners prefer their cats not enjoy this experience.  The climate inside the facility is controlled by air conditioning in the warmer months and heat in the colder Winter months.  From the facility the cats can view the mountains and country settings complete with horses and other wildlife including plenty of birds.  There are roomy floor to ceiling condos for our shy guests, and usually the resort owners have found it best to start their kitty guests in the condos to acclimate for a short time to their new surroundings.  No guests are ever confined to their condos unless they or their owners prefer it that way.   The main room has toys, lounging areas, a futon bed, cat trees, and a TV/DVD for watching movies.  The owners often will lounge on the futon in the evenings to watch a video with their kitty guests, just so they feel more at home.  Your cat will enjoy such films as Ratatouille, Aristocats, Milo & Otis, The Incredible Journey, or  Mousehunt.

Dogs:

At Shelby's Eden we board only a limited number of dogs.  At this time, dogs do not have their own facility.   Our boarding dogs are kept in a separate and private area within the owners home, separated from the owners living space by sliding glass doors.  Your dog will have his or her own large room with lots of bedding and toys and stuff to chew on,  as well as access to the resort owners office space (a large room within the home in which the resort owners spend much of their time).  They also have yard access complete with doggie door.  The owners have four rescued dogs of their own, a large female German Shepherd, a medium sized male Shepherd mix, and two small male Chihuahua mixes.  The dogs are all very friendly and well socialized.  Socializing of your dog(s) with the resort owners dogs is left up to the discretion of the resort owners as well as the choice of our guests owners.

At Shelby's Eden your pets are never kept in the confines of cold stainless steel cages, behind bars, or even worse, in the confines of a vented glass cubicle.  Even our kitty condos are friendly, bright, and airy.  We welcome and encourage you to visit our facility before making a decision.  Please call us for an appointment.

Our Hours:

Unlike most facilities, remember that at Shelby's Eden you are boarding in a private home.  Please respect that our hours for pick-up and drop-off are by appointment only.  Although special arrangements can often be made, we prefer early morning pick-up or drop-off between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m, or evening pick-up or drop-off between 4:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.
